Step-by-Step Guide to Making Your Own Essential Oil Perfume
1. Select Your Plant Based Fragrance and Essential Oils
Choose a blend of top, middle, and base notes to create a balanced and long-lasting fragrance. For example:
- Top Notes: Citrus oils like bergamot, lemon, or grapefruit.
- Middle Notes: Floral or herbaceous oils like lavender, jasmine, or geranium.
- Base Notes: Earthy oils like sandalwood, patchouli, or vanilla.
2. Choose Your Carrier Oil
A high-quality carrier oil dilutes the essential oils and ensures they’re safe for the skin. Popular options include jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, or Shores Company’s favorite their nourishing monoi de tahiti oil (coconut).
3. Understand Your Ratios
For a 30 ml roll-on perfume, use 2-3ml of plant based fragrance oil and or essential oils blended into the carrier oil. Adjust the ratio based on the intensity of your desired scent.
4. Blend Your Fragrance
Start by mixing your base, middle, and top notes in a small dish. Once you’re happy with the scent, add the mixture to your carrier oil. Shake well to blend.
5. Let It Rest
Allow your perfume to sit for 24-48 hours to let the oils meld together, creating a harmonious scent.
